Sol Direct Primary Care & MedSpa · East Point, Atlanta
Physician-led hair rejuvenation that starts with understanding — not guessing. We identify the root cause of your hair loss before recommending any treatment.
"You don't have to go it alone — getting the right diagnosis is the first step."
You Are Not Alone
Hair loss is more than a cosmetic concern — it touches your identity, your confidence, and your sense of self. For Black women especially, our hair carries deep cultural meaning. Watching it thin, shed, or recede can feel isolating and overwhelming.
At Sol, we believe you deserve more than a generic recommendation or a product pushed without a proper workup. You deserve a physician who takes your hair loss seriously, listens to your story, and gives you real answers before reaching for a treatment plan.
Where We Start
Before any treatment is recommended, you'll meet with Dr. Cooke for a comprehensive hair diagnostic consultation. Using trichoscopy — a specialized dermoscopic examination of the scalp and hair follicles — we get a clinical picture of what's actually happening beneath the surface.
This is the foundation of everything. The right treatment for the wrong diagnosis won't work. We get the diagnosis right first.
Comprehensive trichoscopic hair & scalp diagnostic with Dr. Cooke. Includes personalized treatment recommendations.
Understanding Hair Loss
Hair loss is not one-size-fits-all — and treating it without a proper diagnosis can make things worse. These are the most common types of hair loss we see and treat at Sol, each requiring a different clinical approach.
The most common form of scarring hair loss in Black women. CCCA begins at the crown and spreads outward, permanently destroying hair follicles if left untreated. Early diagnosis is critical — this is why trichoscopy matters. Symptoms are often subtle at first: tenderness, itching, or scaling at the crown before visible thinning appears.
⚠ Crown thinning · Scalp tenderness · Itching · Scaling
The most common cause of hair loss overall, androgenetic alopecia in women presents as diffuse thinning across the top of the scalp, often with a widening part. Driven by genetics and hormone sensitivity, it can accelerate significantly during perimenopause and menopause. Unlike CCCA, the follicles are not destroyed — making early treatment highly effective.
⚠ Widening part · Diffuse thinning · Hormonal triggers
A temporary but often alarming form of hair loss triggered by physical or emotional stress on the body — illness, surgery, childbirth, rapid weight loss, nutritional deficiencies, or major life events. Hair sheds diffusely, sometimes in handfuls, typically 2–3 months after the triggering event. The good news: with the right support, telogen effluvium is reversible.
⚠ Diffuse shedding · Stress-related · Often reversible
Caused by chronic tension on the hair follicle from tight styling — braids, weaves, extensions, ponytails, and relaxers over time. Traction alopecia commonly presents at the hairline, temples, and edges. Caught early, it is reversible. Left untreated, chronic traction can lead to permanent follicular damage. A clinical examination helps distinguish early from advanced TA.
⚠ Hairline recession · Temple thinning · Edge loss
Treatment Options
Once we understand the cause of your hair loss, we design a personalized treatment plan. No two plans are the same — because no two patients are the same. Here are the treatment modules available at Sol.
01
Topical & Systemic Medications
Prescription and over-the-counter medications tailored to your diagnosis. Topical minoxidil remains a gold standard for many types of hair loss, improving blood flow to follicles and extending the growth phase. We match the medication to the mechanism — not a one-size-fits-all approach.
02
Ultrasound-Based Hair Restoration
Alma TED uses acoustic sound wave technology to open channels in the scalp, dramatically improving the delivery of the TED+ Hair Care Formula to the follicle. No needles, no pain, no downtime — and results visible after as few as 2 treatments. An excellent option for androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium.
03
Targeted Follicular Support
Therapeutic injections delivered directly to the scalp to reduce inflammation, stimulate follicular activity, and support regrowth. Particularly effective for inflammatory and scarring alopecias like CCCA, where reducing scalp inflammation is essential to halting progression and promoting recovery.
04
Nutritional Follicular Support
Targeted nutritional support for hair growth and follicular strength. Xtresse gummies are formulated to address the nutritional deficiencies commonly associated with hair loss in Black women — including biotin, iron, and key micronutrients. Used as part of a comprehensive treatment protocol.
05
Advanced Regenerative Treatment
Exosomes are cutting-edge cell-signaling molecules that stimulate hair follicle regeneration at a cellular level. As one of the most exciting advances in hair restoration medicine, exosome therapy shows exceptional promise for a range of hair loss types — including scarring alopecias. Coming to Sol soon.
06
Platelet-Rich Plasma
Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy uses your own blood's growth factors — concentrated and injected into the scalp — to stimulate dormant follicles and encourage regrowth. A well-established treatment with a strong clinical track record for androgenetic alopecia and early-stage traction alopecia. Coming to Sol soon.

Common Questions
Because hair loss is not one condition — it's many. Treating androgenetic alopecia the same way you treat CCCA, for example, can actually cause harm. A proper trichoscopic examination allows Dr. Cooke to identify exactly what type of hair loss you have, what's driving it, and what treatment protocol will be most effective for you specifically.
Trichoscopy is a non-invasive dermoscopic examination of the scalp and hair follicles. Using a specialized magnifying tool, Dr. Cooke can visualize the follicle structure, scalp condition, and hair shaft characteristics in detail — identifying patterns that distinguish different types of alopecia before they're visible to the naked eye. It's one of the most powerful tools in hair loss diagnosis.
This depends entirely on your diagnosis and chosen treatment protocol. Some patients see meaningful improvement after 2–3 Alma TED sessions; others with inflammatory or scarring conditions may require a longer medical regimen. Dr. Cooke will give you realistic expectations and a clear timeline at your consultation.
It depends on the stage. CCCA is a scarring alopecia, which means follicles that have already been destroyed cannot be restored — but early intervention can halt progression and preserve what remains. Traction alopecia caught early is often fully reversible. This is why getting an accurate diagnosis as early as possible is so important.
