Skincare that was
made for you.
The beauty industry was not built with Black women in mind. Many treatments were developed and tested on lighter skin tones — leaving melanin-rich skin more prone to PIH, scarring, and adverse reactions when protocols aren't tailored properly.
- 01 Fitzpatrick-Informed Protocols Every treatment is calibrated for your Fitzpatrick skin type — no one-size-fits-all approaches.
- 02 PIH Prevention Built In We proactively manage post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk at every step.
- 03 Physician-Led, Always Dr. Cooke reviews and guides every treatment plan — your safety is never delegated.
- 04 A Space Built for You Sol is a sacred space where Black women are not an afterthought — you are the center.

Common Questions
Skincare FAQ
Are your skincare services safe for dark skin tones?
Absolutely. Every treatment at Sol is designed with melanin-rich skin in mind. Dr. Cooke selects protocols, peel strengths, and products specifically to minimize risk of hyperpigmentation and achieve the best results for deeper skin tones.
Do I need to be a DPC member to access skincare services?
No membership required! Our med spa skincare services are open to all patients. You can book a skincare service or consultation independently of our primary care membership.
What should I expect at my first skincare visit?
Your first visit includes a thorough skin analysis and conversation about your concerns, goals, and skin history. Dr. Cooke will walk you through a recommended treatment plan and you'll leave with clear next steps — no pressure.
How is a physician-led med spa different from a regular spa?
At Sol, a medical doctor oversees your care. This means stronger, more effective treatments, safer protocols for complex skin concerns, and the ability to prescribe medical-grade products when needed — all in a warm, welcoming environment.
How many treatments will I need?
Every skin concern is different. After your consultation, Dr. Cooke will recommend a realistic timeline. Most patients see meaningful results within 3–6 sessions, with maintenance treatments to sustain their glow.
Do you sell skincare products to take home?
Yes! Sol carries physician-recommended, medical-grade skincare products. We also partner with Thorne for high-quality, science-backed supplements that support skin health from the inside out.

Book Your Skincare ServiceMedical-Grade Skincare for Black Women in Atlanta, GA
At Sol Direct Primary Care & MedSpa in East Point, Atlanta, we offer a full range of physician-led skincare services designed specifically for melanin-rich skin. Unlike traditional med spas, every treatment at Sol is guided by Dr. Michelle Cooke, MD — a board-certified physician who understands how Black skin uniquely responds to aesthetic treatments.
Why Melanin-Safe Skincare Matters
Melanin-rich skin is more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), keloid scarring, and uneven results when treated with protocols not designed for deeper skin tones. Many chemical peels, laser treatments, and resurfacing procedures were developed and studied primarily on Fitzpatrick Types I–III — leaving patients with Type IV–VI skin underserved and at higher risk of adverse outcomes. At Sol, we specialize in safe, effective skincare for all skin tones, with a particular focus on the needs of Black women.
